TUSCAN DREAMING
IT COMES WITH 94 OLIVE TREES
Price: €330,000. Size: 3 Bed, 2 Bath. 📍 Location: Tuscany.
Tucked away in the lush Val di Chiana, there’s a charming, renovated stone house up for grabs near Sinalunga, Siena. It’s got killer views and comes with its own olive grove—hello, fresh olive oil!
Just a quick walk from the cool, medieval vibes of Scrofiano, this old-school farmhouse from the 1800s rocks a stone exterior and a neat square design, topped off with an epic panoramic terrace on the first floor.
Perched 350 meters up, with a quaint stream nearby, it’s surrounded by 94 olive trees (yes, they make tons of awesome oil every year), plus some oaks and acacias for that extra green touch.
The combo of countryside and village views? Absolutely enchanting. I mean, what else could you expect from a Disney movie-esque country home in Tuscany. And those olive trees? Perfect for making some hearty, tuscan cuisine like this Pici all'aglione.
FYI: Just 10 minutes from Sinlunga, a renowned local artist creates unique dolls, including marionettes and crèche figures. Skilled in various crafts, she specializes in exquisite porcelain dolls adorned with human hair wigs and custom-made glass eyes from a German craftsman, giving them a lifelike appearance. Her creations are highly prized by collectors and considered museum-quality.

ICE CREAM FACTORY TURNED HOME

Here at Outta Town, we love all beautiful homes, regardless of their price point or whether or not they are on sale. When some brave folk take on the challenge of turning what was a building left to rot into a home, that’s when our interest really peaks.
By chance accident, Russell Pinch, one half of the iconic furniture design brand, Pinch was having a lie in, a well-earned reward for just undertaking a 10-year conversion project on a barn in France, when he stumbled across a dilapidated old ice cream factory in Devon. Seeing it was green lit for a family home conversion, Russell, and his partner Oona Bannon thought what the hell and went for a drive.
Most people would have seen little more than a disused farm building, but the couple saw something more — with its curved walls and incredible view potential, the duo, along with architect David Kohn got to work, and well, the pictures speak for themselves.
FRENCH FRENZY
A MEDIEVAL GEM
Price: €190,800. Size: 2 Bed, 1 Bath. 📍 Location: Montaigu-de-Quercy, France
This 2-bedroom stone house is a medieval gem, spread across three levels and boasting 150 m^2 of land plus an adorable garden terrace.
Just a short walk gets you to the nearest supermarket for your grocery hauls, a killer bakery for indulging in French pastries, a tabac if that’s your thing, and there’s also a pharmacy and medical center nearby. It's super convenient with everything you need pretty much just a stone's throw away!
FYI: Montaigu-de-Quercy's population has dwindled to just 1,300, with a notable shift towards an older demographic—45.7% are now over 60, while only 21% are under 30.
This decline, fueled by aging residents and rural exodus, mirrors a broader trend seen across France and other European nations. Without targeted efforts to attract younger residents, the town's population is expected to continue its decline.
